NEW CHILDCARE CENTRE IN HIGHLANDS

Collie has recently assisted Stockland in obtaining a town planning permit for a childcare centre in Highlands, Craigieburn.  The childcare centre will be located to the northwest of the intersection of Marathon Boulevard and Highlander Drive and is expected to serve the growing number of families moving into the new area.

The planning permit allows for the development of a 124 place centre, with an expected 24 full time staff members.  The childcare centre will comprise a reception area and foyer, seven childcare rooms, sleep rooms as well as two large outdoor play areas.

Collie involvement included providing planning input to assist in the design development stage of the project and to guide the preparation of supporting information necessary to submit with a planning permit application package.  Following attendance at a pre-application meeting, Collie prepared a detailed planning report on the proposal that was submitted to Hume City Council as part of the planning permit application package collated by Collie.  Collie also worked closely with Raunik Design Group (architects) to facilitate an outcome that captured the design brief of Stockland, whilst also responding to the requirements of Hume City Council.

Collie looks forward to the completion of this project and the commencement of childcare services.
