Collie was engaged by PDS Group and recently assisted in obtaining a town planning permit for a gym located at the Tarneit Gardens Shopping Centre. The gym will be contained within a 450 square metres building, will operate 24 hours, seven days a week and will comprise on-site car and bicycle parking. Collie involvement included providing town planning input to assist in the design and development stage of the project and to guide the preparation of supporting information necessary to submit with the planning permit application. In addition, we prepared a detailed town planning report that was submitted as part of the application package and worked closely with i2C architects in reviewing and advising on changes to the design in order to maximise the chances of approval. The building will ‘anchor’ the entry to the shopping centre and has been designed for adaptive reuse should it cease to operate as a gym.
