Here we are again in yet another familiar lockdown and almost at the halfway mark of the year.

Where has the start of 2021 gone?

With the City of Melbourne recently pushing workers to return to the city on Friday’s before this most recent lockdown, it has got us thinking that a number of other Councils have not returned to work since COVID-19.

Anecdotally we wonder whether longer timeframes for town planning decisions being made by Councils is another ramification of COVID-19 that does not get a lot of airplay!

While we recognise the importance of giving people the option to WFH, there is no doubt that if Council employees were encouraged to return to work this would have an immediate impact on the planning system.
