_Mediation Through VCAT

Collie has been involved representing a client in mediation via a compulsory conference at VCAT and then continuing negotiations over the following weeks to reach a resolution.  The matter involved a commercial development in Canterbury Road Middle Park in Melbourne and the proposed neighbouring residential development. 

Key issues revolved around event use of outdoor areas, noise, overlooking and screening. 

The result of the mediation and negotiations was a VCAT decision via consent orders where the permit applicant, review applicant and Council, were able to develop / agree draft conditions that were acceptable to all parties.  VCAT issued consent orders to that effect.
